we all have them!
i don"t know why? I just know we do and I don't know why they have been so much on my mind lately.
First, so we all can be on the same page, I in no example am picking on any individual, nor do i know where i am going
with this...come along let's see where it leads us...
Definition of Pet Peeve: A "Pet Peeve" Is a minor annoyance that an individual identifies as particularly annoying to himself,to a greater degree than others may find it.
I think we all in life have some pet peeves of a similar sort that are only occasionally annoying, but then there are others that if repeated long enough can be down right destructive to any form of civil discussion or inhabiting the same environment, much less crib!!! side note from author..just can't help it folks,i start composing and humor just bubbles up in me :)
Ahem..back to the serious stuff...
I could almost guarantee that the largest percent of us would agree that Drivers seen texting or talking on phones while maneuvering through treacherous traffic is really high on our list of pet peeves. Yes, I believe many of us have multiple pet peeves as well. Particularly if behind the wheel of a moving vehicle . Like the person weeving in and out of traffic, tailgaiting, jumping in front of you to only be turning off the road in less than a quarter of a mile..Really? Road Rage really isn't a pet peeve as much as it is plain scary. I see it happening more and more and truly believe it is something that needs to be addressed more seriously for the future safety of my community....Not using signal turning lights is a major pet peeve of mine!
Then there are personal pet peeves..aka known as living with another individual or individuals plural...but since Earl and I have been together so many years side note by author, yes my husband's name is really Earl, you can't make this stuff up ;-0i think our relationship has pretty much survived the pet peeve stage. Eventually it comes to moments of realization that you either have to accept a pet peeve, and just learn to live with it or figure out ho to make them think it as their idea to change it. Or there is also my admission sometimes it has nothing to do with pet peeves and the SOB needs to bring me flowers and candy or sleep cold for a couple of nights or months :-)...but i never believed in cutting off one's nose to spite one's face!
I think the Internet these days have the most instances of pet peeves. So many posters, writers, commentators, bloggers.Get that many different minds in one place and i would be willing to make a bet you can find the most peevish of pet peeves. I am guilty both on the receiving and giving end of that thought. I kno I use LOL a lot and i recently read that it is one of the biggest pet peeves on the internet...just can't help myself..i read something amusing and immediately respond LOL(laugh out loud) even if I am not really laughing out loud, but just amused...My #1 pet peeve on the Internet is being referred to as "people"..I am not a "people"...I am a person! an individual. and a dang unique one IMHO.Actually, it isn't just on the internet that being referred to as "people" gets my goat, uhhh even though I am talking about humans..In meetings, large and small, open community or private..the second someone stands up and says "You People" or "People,People,People"..I am closing up my briefcase and like a Arab Trader folding up his tent for the night, slips quietly away into the darkness. I have no idea y being referred to as "people" pisses me off.just that it does.hmmm maybe because it is so close to "sheeple" which i have always considered a controversial term. And one thing I have learned lately is that I have had enough controversy to last a lifetime.but to some my pet peeve could be absolutely ridiculous, actually thinking being referred to as a "people" is a term of common thoughts and comradeship. Nah, me no people. Me BA :D
Pet Peeves anyone..Cheers, I am all Ears...
